In 2023, 40.6% of artists on the Billboard Hot 100 Year-End Chart were women, up from 34.8% in 2022. However, women still make up less than a quarter of artist roles across the past 12 years. These aren't just numbers – they represent countless talented artists waiting to be heard. That's why The Ladybug Music Festival is dedicated to amplifying women's voices in music!

Women in Music Spotlight: Sylvia Massy, the producer behind Tool’s ‘Undertow’ and Johnny Cash’s American Recordings series. Her unconventional recording techniques revolutionized rock production. 🐞 A recent study shows only 2% of music producers are women. Let’s amplify organizations like @WomensAudioMission and @SheIsTheMusic working to change these statistics. Let’s celebrate the women behind the mixing board! 🎛️

This year, the Ladybug Music Festival spread its wings, crossed state lines, and spent some time getting to know beautiful Old Ellicott City, Maryland! 🦀🐞 On June 29th, music lovers joined us from far and wide for the inaugural event, celebrating the power and artistry of women in music.
We had a lovely day in this charming town and historic district. With its beautiful architecture, scenic river, rolling hills, and vibrant community of artists, shop owners, and welcoming residents, Old Ellicott City felt like the perfect home-away-from-home for our festival.
Visit @visitoec web and socials to learn about Old Ellicott City’s resilient past and promising future events! Who knows, maybe we’ll see you there next year? 🫶
